Chapter 7 - The Final Trap

“Guards,” Julian said, his voice echoing with absolute authority.

The heavy glass doors swung wide open, and Marcus stepped into the boardroom flanked by two federal marshals in tactical gear, their badges gleaming in the bright Manhattan sunlight.

Arthur stumbled backward, his hip hitting the edge of the mahogany table. “Federal marshals? You... you can’t do this! I’m a senior executive! I’m family!”

“You ceased being family the moment you laid a hand on my wife and child,” Julian said coldly, stepping right up to his trembling cousin.

The marshals moved in with practiced precision, grabbing Arthur by both arms and shoving his hands behind his back as the cold steel cuffs clicked into place.

“You’re making a mistake, Julian! The board will never vote for you after this!” Arthur shrieked as he was dragged toward the elevators, his expensive suit jacket bunched up around his shoulders. “You’ll ruin the company! You’ll—!”

The elevator doors closed, cutting off his frantic screams.

Silence descended upon the thirty-fifth floor once more.

Julian turned around to face the twelve senior board members. Every single one of them was sitting bolt upright, pale-faced, staring at him with a mixture of awe and absolute terror.

“As for the rest of you,” Julian said, his voice dropping an octave as he rested his hands on the back of the chairman’s chair. “If any member of this board was aware of Arthur’s embezzlement and failed to report it, clean out your desks by the end of the hour. The rest of us have a company to rebuild.”

Not a single board member dared to utter a word. They all nodded in unison, terrified to test the titan’s wrath.

Julian turned on his heel and walked out of the boardroom, his phone already in hand. He dialed the private penthouse line at the Grand Alcazar.

It picked up on the first ring.

“Marcus,” Julian said.

“Everything is secure here, Boss. Mrs. Rossi is resting comfortably.”

“Pack her bags,” Julian instructed, a rare, genuine smile breaking across his harsh features. “Bring her home. The monster is gone.”
