Chapter 4 - The Blackbank Dossier

While Julian’s private helicopter sliced through the grey winter clouds toward Manhattan, back at the Grand Alcazar, Marcus and his elite security team had secured the penthouse suite.

Elena sat on the edge of a velvet chaise lounge, a doctor examining her vitals while a nurse handed her a warm cup of herbal tea. Her hands still shook, but the crushing despair that had weighed on her for eight long months had finally begun to lift, replaced by a terrifying, burning hope.

“You’re safe now, Mrs. Rossi,” Marcus said respectfully, standing near the doorway with his arms crossed over his tactical vest. “Mr. Rossi is tearing down the corporate ladder as we speak. Nobody will ever touch you again.”

Elena looked up, her dark eyes filled with unshed tears. “Marcus... you don't know Arthur. He’s completely ruthless. He didn't just lock me away... he framed me.”

Marcus stepped closer, frowning. “Framed you for what?”

“Eight months ago, I discovered that Arthur was embezzling hundreds of millions of dollars from the European resort development accounts,” Elena explained, her voice cracking slightly as she clutched the warm mug. “I found the encrypted ledger on Julian’s home study computer. When I tried to confront Arthur and show Julian the proof, Arthur intercepted me in the underground garage.”

A cold shiver ran down Marcus’s spine. “He attacked you?”

“He drugged me,” Elena whispered, shivering at the memory. “When I woke up, I was locked in a disused basement in Brooklyn. He told me that if I ever breathed a word about the embezzlement, or if I tried to contact Julian, he would leak fabricated medical records claiming I was a violent, unstable drug addict who had abandoned her marriage. And then... a month later, I realized I was pregnant.”

Elena placed a protective hand over her swollen abdomen, a fresh tear slipping down her cheek.

“When Arthur found out I was carrying Julian’s child, he became even more unhinged,” she continued. “He said an heir would complicate his plan to seize full control of Rossi Global when Julian’s grandfather's trust fund matures next month. He brought me to the Grand Alcazar, stripped me of my identity, and told me that if I showed my face or uttered a single word to anyone, he would ensure my baby was stillborn before it ever took a breath.”

Marcus’s face hardened into a mask of pure fury. He pulled a heavy encrypted tablet from his tactical belt.

“Mrs. Rossi, did you manage to keep any of the evidence against him?”

Elena nodded slowly. She reached into the pocket of the oversized grey housekeeping sweater she was still wearing, pulled out a small, waterproof flash drive concealed in the hem lining, and handed it to Marcus.

“Everything is on here,” Elena said softly. “The bank routing numbers, the shell companies in the Caymans, the forged signatures. It’s all here.”

Marcus took the drive, his eyes gleaming with lethal resolve. “Thank you, ma’am. Mr. Rossi is going to love this.”
