Chapter 7 - Reclaiming the Crown

With Silas and Odalys permanently removed from society, I officially assumed my role as the sole CEO and Chairwoman of Vance Dynamics, which I immediately renamed Osei Global Technologies.
The company underwent a total transformation.
I purged every corrupt executive Silas had hired, replacing them with brilliant, ethical engineers and leaders. I restructured our product line, shifting our core technology toward developing advanced pediatric medical devices and automated hospital security systems designed to protect vulnerable patients.
Under my leadership, Osei Global’s stock value tripled within twelve months.
I was featured on the cover of Time Magazine as "The Tech Titan Who Conquered Darkness."
On a warm summer evening, my father and I hosted a grand gala at our newly built lakefront estate in Evanston, Illinois. The event celebrated the launch of the Clara Osei Maternal Health Fund, a $100 million foundation dedicated to providing free medical care and legal defense for pregnant women in abusive situations.
Over three hundred guests—governors, tech CEOs, international diplomats, and community leaders—filled the magnificent glass ballroom overlooking Lake Michigan.
I stood on the podium, wearing a breathtaking sapphire blue gown, holding the microphone.
“One year ago, someone told me I was just a complication,” I said, looking out at the warm, cheering crowd. “They thought that because I was quiet, I was weak. They thought they could steal my work, destroy my body, and take my daughter.”
I turned my head, smiling warmly at my father, who stood in the front row holding one-year-old Clara on his hip.
“But they forgot one very important thing,” I continued, my voice rich with pride. “They forgot who built the foundation. They forgot that when you attack a queen, you wake the dragon that raised her.”
The audience erupted into a resounding, standing ovation.

As the applause echoed through the ballroom, a handsome young man stepped up to my side. His name was Julian Vance—no relation to Silas, but a brilliant, kind-hearted pediatric surgeon from Johns Hopkins who had helped care for Clara during her first weeks of life.
Julian looked at me with deep, genuine admiration, sliding a gentle arm around my waist as we bowed to the crowd. Unlike Silas, Julian didn't want my money or my title. He loved me for who I was—a survivor, a mother, and an unstoppable force.
