Chapter 6 - Shadows in the Estate

Elena stepped forward calmly, placing the black leather binder on the center table.
"Eight years ago," Elena spoke, her voice clear and steady despite facing fifteen billionaires, "Moretti Medical buried my father’s research on bio-synaptic nerve regeneration. Dominic Moretti falsified clinical trial data so he could launch a $2 billion hardware division instead."
She opened the file, showing signed documents, altered laboratory results, and offshore bank transfers with Dominic’s personal signature.
"Using my father’s original therapy method," Elena continued, looking directly at Dominic, "I was able to restore partial motor function to Sofia Moretti in less than four months. The hardware your company sells for millions is obsolete."
The board members began whispering frantically.
"She’s lying!" Dominic screamed, slamming his hands on the table. "She’s a maid! A nobody!"
"She is the daughter of a genius," I corrected him, standing up. "And as of five minutes ago, Moretti Group has acquired Dr. Vance’s original patents. We are dissolving the hardware division and appointing Elena Vance as head of our new Neurological Recovery Institute."

Dominic backed away, his eyes wild with desperation. "You can't do this to me! I'm your brother!"
"You tried to frame an innocent woman and destroy my daughter's chance at walking just to line your pockets," I said softly. "You are no brother of mine."
