Chapter 10 - The Ultimate Reign

Six months later.
The grand ballroom of the St. Regis Hotel was filled with over a thousand high-society guests, international diplomats, and business tycoons. But tonight, it wasn't a charity gala for Chester Aldrich’s corrupt foundation.
Tonight was the inauguration of the Layla Whitmore Foundation for Hearing and Neuromuscular Restoration—the largest non-profit pediatric medical research institute in the world, fully funded by the newly merged Thorne-Whitmore Global Conglomerate.

"Always, Mr. Thorne," Vanessa smiled, placing her hand in his.
As they glided across the polished marble floor, Layla and Lily ran up to them, holding hands and dancing together in circles around them, laughing hysterically.
Vance pulled Vanessa closer, pressing his forehead against hers as the music wrapped around them.
"We did it," Vanessa whispered, resting her head against his chest, listening to the steady, strong beat of his heart.

"This is just the beginning, my love," Vance promised, holding her tightly. "No one will ever steal her voice again. And no one will ever touch our family."
Under the glittering chandeliers of the grand ballroom, where her silence had once been used as a weapon against her, Layla Whitmore’s laughter echoed—loud, beautiful, and forever free.
