Chapter 7 - The Trap

Before Vance could call for security, Naomi closed the distance. With surgical speed, she pressed a small nerve point on his neck while simultaneously slipping his encrypted master keycard and smartphone from his inner jacket pocket.
Vance gasped, paralyzed by the temporary pressure point, stumbling back into a secluded alcove. "You... you don't know what you're doing..." he wheezed.
"I know exactly what I'm doing," Naomi whispered cold in his ear. "I'm executing a prescription."
Suddenly, the lights in the hallway flickered and died. Emergency red lights illuminated the corridor.
A heavy hand grabbed Naomi’s wrist from behind.
"Going somewhere, Nurse?"
Naomi spun around to find Marcus Reed standing there, his broken wrist bound in a black brace, a heavy silenced pistol held in his right hand. Beside him stood three armed mercenaries clad in dark tactical gear.
"You really thought you could play spy with Thorne?" Marcus sneered, his eyes wild with vengeance. "My father owns this hotel. The moment you walked in, you walked into a kill box."
Naomi’s mind raced. She was trapped in the narrow hallway with three armed men.
"Where is Dominic?" Marcus demanded, pointing the gun at her heart. "Tell me, or I’ll put a bullet through your kneecaps right now."

Naomi smiled faintly. "He’s right behind you."
Before Marcus could react, a shadow detached itself from the ceiling rafters above. Dominic dropped down with terrifying speed, slamming one mercenary into the marble wall while disarming the second with a swift, brutal kick.
