Chapter 10 - The Vows That Matter

Three months later, the Moretti estate looked entirely different.
The white roses in the grand hall had been replaced by deep crimson dahlias. The crowd was smaller—no fickle politicians, no corrupt judges, only the loyal family captains, close friends, and the people who truly mattered.
At the altar beneath the floral arch stood Alessandro Moretti. He wore a black tuxedo, his silver temples catching the warm light of the chandeliers.
The string quartet began to play a soft, timeless melody.
The heavy oak doors swung open.
Walking down the marble aisle—not in a shimmering, terrified state of captivity, but in a simple, elegant ivory dress with her head held high—was Vanessa Hale. On her arm walked her brother Liam, fully recovered, smiling with tears in his eyes.
And leading the procession, scattering white and red rose petals across the marble floor with fierce concentration, was a four-year-old girl wearing a brand-new red ribbon in her brown curls.
As Emma reached the front of the aisle, she paused, looked up at Alessandro, and offered a solemn, approving nod.
Alessandro smiled back, knelt down just as he had done three months ago, and tapped her small red ribbon gently.
“You missed a spot right here, flower girl,” Alessandro whispered.
Emma giggled, running over to stand beside her mother, Sophia, who watched from the front row with tears of absolute joy streaming down her face.
Alessandro stood up, turned to face Vanessa as she reached the altar, and took her hands. Her fingers weren't cold anymore. They were warm, steady, and entirely free.
“Shall we try this again?” Alessandro asked softly.
May you like
Vanessa smiled, her eyes shining with love and redemption. “Without any interruptions, Mr. Moretti.”
The priest opened his book, and in a hall filled with true loyalty, the vows were finally spoken—never to be broken again.
