Chapter 10 - Reborn from the Ashes

One year later.
The morning sun shone bright over the Bel-Air estate.
The heavy, suffocating atmosphere that once hung over the property was completely gone. The grand marble foyer—where Ethan had struck me and Evelyn had sneered—was now filled with warmth, laughter, and light.
I had completely renovated the mansion. I didn't sell it, nor did I live in it.
Instead, I transferred ownership of the $25 million property to the newly established Victoria Vance Foundation for Women & Children. The mansion was transformed into a state-of-the-art emergency shelter, rehabilitation center, and legal assistance hub for women fleeing abusive relationships.
On the front foyer wall, where a portrait of Ethan’s family used to hang, was now a beautiful bronze plaque engraved with the words:
"Your past does not define your destiny. You are stronger than the hands that tried to break you."
I stood on the balcony overlooking the manicured gardens, holding a hot cup of coffee. Below, mothers were walking safely in the garden while their children played freely on the lawn.
Marcus walked up behind me, holding a tablet. "The final paperwork for the foundation's expansion into New York and Chicago just cleared, Victoria. Vanguard’s stock reached an all-time high this morning."
"Thank you, Marcus," I said, smiling warmly. "For everything."
"You built this empire yourself, Victoria," Marcus said with genuine respect. "I just pushed the paper."
I took a sip of my coffee, feeling the warm morning breeze against my skin. The scars on my hand from my old wedding ring had completely faded, replaced by strength, independence, and an unshakeable sense of purpose.

I had entered that house as a woman hiding her strength to keep a man fragile ego intact.
I walked out of it as a queen who owned the world.
