Deprived of his company, his home, and his money, Ethan ran back to his mother. They were forced to check into a cheap two-star motel on the outskirts of the city, using Evelyn’s emergency jewelry—which she had pawned at a fraction of its value—to pay for the room.
"We will fight her!" Evelyn raged, pacing back and forth on the stained carpet of the motel room. "We will go to the press! We will tell the world that she lured you into a trap, stole your company, and destroyed our family! The public loves a mother fighting for her son!"
That afternoon, Evelyn organized a press conference outside the Los Angeles County Courthouse. She invited small tabloid reporters and local news channels.
Dressed in black, wearing no makeup, Evelyn wept hysterically in front of the cameras.
"Victoria Vance is a calculating, evil gold-digger!" Evelyn sobbed into the microphones. "She seduced my son, ruined his business from the inside, and then fabricated lies about domestic abuse just to steal everything he worked for! My son never laid a finger on her! She self-harmed to frame him!"
Ethan stood beside her, bowing his head, putting on his best impression of a victimized, heartbroken husband.
The news segment went viral within hours. Social media began trending with hashtags like #JusticeForEthan and #VictoriaVanceExposed.
Marcus called me that evening. "Victoria, the media storm is growing. Tabloids are calling you a sociopath. Should we issue a written denial?"
"No," I said, looking at the video file sitting on my laptop desktop. "A written denial is what guilty people use. Send the footage."
"The foyer security footage?" Marcus asked, a smirk creeping into his voice.
"The full HD footage. Unedited. With audio."
When I bought the mansion, I had installed high-end security systems integrated into the smart ceiling features for safety—something neither Ethan nor Evelyn ever noticed.
At 8:00 PM that night, during peak evening news, Vanguard’s PR firm released the crystal-clear security video from the day of the incident.
The video exploded across the internet like a nuclear bomb.
Millions of viewers watched in high-definition as Evelyn called me a "barren, useless parasite." They heard the loud, echoing CRACK of Ethan’s hand smashing across my face. They saw my wedding ring cut into my hand, blood spilling into my palm. They watched Evelyn smile like a villain as Ethan threw me out into the street.
