Chapter 10 - The Garden of New Beginnings

Two years later, the Falcone estate—once known as a fortress of cold marble and silent fear—had undergone a transformation that stunned the high-society circles of Providence.

The black iron gates were still grand, but the guards at the entrance no longer looked like executioners; they smiled and waved at the local children who walked past the manicured hedges on their way home from school.

In the sunlit courtyard behind the main house, where a cruel push had once sparked a revolution of the heart, a new garden was blooming.

Roses, hydrangeas, and sweet-smelling lavender lined the stone pathways.

Down by the edge of the blue swimming pool, six-year-old Clementine knelt in the soft soil with a small yellow trowel, planting bright red tulips while humming a cheerful tune under her breath.

A few feet away, leaning against the stone balustrade of the terrace, Adriano watched her with a soft, protective smile that no reporter or rival boss would ever have believed he was capable of wearing.

Footsteps approached softly from behind.

Rebecca stepped out onto the terrace, wearing a simple blue summer dress, her dark hair falling in soft waves around her shoulders. She held a tray with two glasses of iced lemonade.

“She’s going to dig up the entire lawn if you don't stop her,” Rebecca teased gently, handing a glass to Adriano.

Adriano took the glass, his fingers brushing against hers, lingering for a beat longer than necessary. He pulled her close, wrapping his arm around her waist and pressing a soft kiss against the top of her head.

“Let her dig,” Adriano murmured, looking out over the sunlit estate. “This land has needed some life in it for a very long time.”

Rebecca smiled, resting her head against his shoulder.

They had survived the grief, the corporate greed, the syndicate wars, and the cold, glittering cruelty of a world that tried to crush them. They had built something real out of the ashes of the past.

Down by the garden, Clementine held up a muddy hand, calling out to them across the grass.

“Mommy! Adriano! Look! I found a worm!”

Both of them laughed—a warm, genuine sound that echoed across the stone walls of the mansion, filling every corner of the house with light, freedom, and an unbreakable love that no money could ever buy.
