Chapter 8 - A New Dynasty

Three weeks later, the Moretti estate looked entirely different.

The blood had been washed away, the broken glass replaced, and the dark cloud of fear that had hung over the mansion for decades had finally lifted.

Inside the grand ballroom, the sunlight streamed through three crystal chandeliers, illuminating polished marble floors that reflected no shadows. There were no politicians whispering false promises, no rival dons plotting assassinations, and no arrogant brides demanding impossible performances.

There was only music.

A soft, gentle piano melody filled the room.

Emma spun across the center of the dance floor, wearing a brand-new dress of soft pink tulle, her bare feet pattering lightly against the marble. She was laughing, clutching her stuffed rabbit in one arm as she twirled.

Standing near the edge of the floor, watching with a look of absolute, unapologetic devotion, stood Aleandro and Sophia.

Aleandro wore a simple open-collared shirt instead of his usual military-grade suits. He slipped his arm around Sophia’s waist, pulling her close as they watched their daughter dance.

“You know,” Sophia murmured, leaning her head against his shoulder, “she still thinks she won a million dollars.”

Aleandro smiled softly, pressing a kiss to her dark hair. “She did. And so did I.”

Emma stopped spinning, running over to them with bright, sparkling eyes. She tugged on Aleandro’s trousers.

“Daddy! Are you going to dance with me now?”

Aleandro knelt down on one knee—the exact same spot where, just weeks ago, a terrified little girl had handed him a red crayon heart and asked to borrow a father. But this time, there was no borrowing.

He scooped Emma up into his arms, lifting her high into the air as she giggled with pure joy, before pulling Sophia into the circle with them.

The music swelled, echoing through the halls of a dynasty that was no longer built on fear, but on a love that had survived the dark, dancing together into the light of a brand-new dawn.
